Our Process

A slower approach to better meat

When you’ve spent years raising an animal, the processing shouldn’t be the rushed part.

At Shooters Supreme Meat Processing, we deliberately take our time. From talking through your options to ageing and cutting your meat, the focus is always on getting the best possible result from the animal.

It starts with a conversation

There’s a lot more you can do with an animal than you might realise.

Before we start cutting, we’ll talk about what you actually like to eat, how you cook and what you want from your meat.

We can introduce you to different cuts, suggest options you may not have considered and help you make the most of the whole animal.

You’re welcome to come into the workshop and talk to Deane – even before you have an animal ready to process.

We don’t rush the ageing process

One of the biggest differences at Shooters is time.

Our setup gives us the space to properly monitor your meat as it ages, rather than having to move it through quickly to make room for the next job.

Ageing allows the meat to naturally tenderise and develop a deeper, richer flavour.

We keep an eye on it and process it when it’s right.

Not too soon. Not just because there’s another animal waiting.

Then we cut it your way

Once the meat is ready, we process it based on what we’ve discussed with you.

That might include the traditional steaks, roasts and mince you know and love, or it could mean trying some different cuts and getting more variety from your animal.

The goal is simple:

More enjoyment. Less waste. Better meat.

Done properly from start to finish

Shooters is fully registered and operates to the required food safety standards.

But for us, doing things properly goes beyond compliance.

It means respecting the animal, keeping the workshop clean and organised, taking care with every cut and never sacrificing quality just to get a job finished faster.

Come and see for yourself – We’re happy for customers to come into the workshop, see how we operate and ask questions.

If you’re raising an animal now – you don’t need to wait until processing time to get in touch.

Come in, have a chat with Deane and find out what you could get from your animal.

Take your time raising it. We’ll take our time processing it.
